Public Health interns at the University of Arkansas work on-site in agencies that serve the Northwest Arkansas community. These agencies serve a wide range of populations (e.g., children, adults, special populations) and have a wide range of focuses (e.g., research, community programs, education).
Besides helping Public Health undergraduate and graduate students with their internships, this website also serves to honor the scores of agencies that have shared resources with them.
How to use this site:
For future planning/exploring (not enrolled in PBHL 4043)
You can use this site to browse possible internship sites for future planning. The intern-sponsoring agencies are divided into three categories.
- Community Focus Internship Hosts
- Health Care Internship Hosts
- Youth, Collegiate and Research Internship Hosts
Because these three headings are broad, a company or nonprofit may be listed on a different list than expected. Please look through them or use the Search 🔍 button on the upper right. Our page on each agency has a description, instructions for applying, additional requirements and contact information. Moreso, some also include video presentations created by previous interns!
To look for internship placement for next semester (enrolled in PBHL 4043)
If you are enrolled in PBHL 4043 (the required undergraduate internship course), you should look under “Openings” to see list of sites that have confirmed openings for the upcoming semester. For students enrolled in PBHL 4043, the expectation is that you select and secure your own internship as soon as possible by contacting agencies of interest. You will receive more information regarding course structure and assignments from your instructor after you are enrolled in the course.  Also, please see FAQ section for common questions regarding the course.
