Mission statement: We strive to improve heart health in Northwest Arkansas through the deployment of innovative technologies and public health initiatives.
HealthTech Arkansas (HTA) drives clinical innovation for the ten largest hospitals and health systems in Arkansas, which is accomplished through accelerator programs and internal innovation programming.
Our internal innovation programming is focused on helping our state’s healthcare provider organizations to harvest, organize, and develop ideas for new innovations from their own clinicians and administrators. We do that through a variety of specific programs focused on solving real problems and challenges (clinical and administrative in nature) through the development and commercialization of intellectual property to be owned by the provider organization.
Our public health initiative is focused on improving the detection and treatment of cardiovascular disease in NWA. We leverage our expertise in clinical trials management and our extensive network to bring in new screening and remote patient monitoring technologies into communities that can most benefit from them.
Projects that would be available will vary depending on what semester an intern joins, but will likely involve: assisting in aspects of public health program planning (both), completing extensive literature reviews related to ASCVD and ASCVD risk mitigation strategies (fall), and scheduling and planning community screening events (spring).
