Position: Foundation intern

Reporting to the executive director, the foundation intern is the overall administrative support of the foundation. This includes assisting the executive director with fundraising activities, special events, grant making and outreach. Foundation interns have a significant role in grant and scholarship program management. The work environment can be a hybrid of remote and in-person activity.

Essential Duties

SPSEF office management

  • Assist the executive director in preparation of Board of Directors meetings, minutes, record keeping and documentation for adherence to 501c3 non-profit status
  • Develops processes to ensure accurate and timely creation of mailing, email, calling and event lists in support of fundraising and stewardship objectives

Online Donation Web Pages, Marketing and e-Philanthropy

  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of online donation pages, e-newsletters and social media
  • Works with executive director to develop a communications plan including posting regular content on both the website and social media accounts to communicate SPSEF mission

Scholarships and Grants

  • Work with executive director to develop SPSEF scholarship and grant applications
  • Take a leadership role in the scholarship award process
  • Assist executive director in recruiting grant and scholarship volunteers
  • Act as a liaison to SPSEF grant recipients and applicants

  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity while dealing with information about donors, sponsors and funders
  • Promote the mission of the Springdale Public Schools Education Foundation

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proper usage of grammar, vocabulary, spelling, proofreading and document generation; experience with ConstantContact preferred
  • Database management experience required
  • Experience (moderate to advanced level) using Word and Excel to process data, create reports, create distribution lists and filter data
  • Ability to deliver results within the established timeframes while managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently, excellent self-motivational skills, excellent customer service
  • Have fun in the workplace
